Madrid’s P1 dust had barely settled before the tour moved to Roland-Garros for the Alpine Paris Major, Scotland published its Cup champions, and the LTA named Great Britain’s squads for next month’s World Cup qualifier. Here is your UK round-up for 7 to 13 September 2026.
Paris Major: Tapia/Coello and Sánchez/Ustero take Roland-Garros
Premier Padel’s Alpine Paris Major ran from 6 to 13 September at Stade Roland-Garros, with qualifying on the opening weekend and finals on Philippe-Chatrier on Sunday 13 September. Official FIP listing put prize money at €1,044,849 and 2,000 ranking points for the champions.
In the women’s final, Ari Sánchez and Andrea Ustero beat Claudia Fernández and Martina Calvo 6-2, 6-0. It was their first Major title as a pair after falling in the Rome Major final earlier in the season. Fernández and Calvo had reached the final by knocking out world number ones Gemma Triay and Delfi Brea in the semi-finals.
In the men’s final, Agustín Tapia and Arturo Coello beat Ale Galán and Fede Chingotto 6-3, 4-6, 7-6(1). Galán and Chingotto served for the title at 5-3 in the third set before the world number ones forced a tie-break and closed it 7-1. It was a fourth straight Paris Major for Tapia and Coello, and a third consecutive Paris final defeat for Galán and Chingotto.
For UK viewers the free streams remain the usual Premier Padel channels. After Madrid’s late-night drama, Paris was the first Major on the calendar since London’s Olympia P1 and a useful mid-September marker before the British focus shifts to Madrid’s World Cup qualifier.
Scottish Cup champions confirmed at Racket Barn
Tennis Scotland confirmed the winners from Finals Day at Racket Barn in Glasgow on Sunday 6 September. Game4Padel Thistle Men lifted the men’s title for the first time with a 3-2 win over defending champions Game4Padel Barnton Park in an all-Edinburgh final. West of Scotland Padel Women beat Edinburgh Sports Club 3-2 to take the women’s trophy for the third time in four years. Both ties needed 10-point shootouts after the sides could not be split across four rubbers.
The same venue hosts the inaugural Scottish Open Championships from 18 to 20 September, with a £4,000 prize fund and LTA British Tour Grade One ranking points. Entries remain the next checkpoint for domestic players looking for ranked match play.
LTA names GB squads for Madrid World Cup qualifier
On 7 September the LTA published Great Britain’s men’s and women’s squads for the FIP World Cup European qualifier at Pádel G24 in Madrid from 22 to 26 September. Fifty-five national teams from 29 countries will compete for four places (two men’s, two women’s) at November’s World Cup finals in Doha. Five GB players are ranked inside the world’s top 200.
The women’s squad, led by captains Libby Fletcher and Iciar Montes, is: Aimee Gibson, Catherine Rose, Tia Norton, Lisa Phillips, Abigail Tordoff, Laura Jackson, Chloe De La Mare and Victoria Nicholas. The men’s squad, led by captains John Leach and Agustin Silingo, is: Christian Medina Murphy, Louie Harris, Alex Loughlan, Theo Garton, Jamie Lobo, Sam Jones, Chris Salisbury and Alfonso Patacho. De La Mare and Garton earn open-team call-ups for the first time. Salisbury and Patacho were London Premier Padel P1 wildcards earlier in the summer.
