The first London Premier Padel P1 already feels like last month’s story, and the tour has moved straight back to Spain. This week the elite game closed at Movistar Arena for the Madrid P1, Scotland ran its club cup finals, and the British calendar started to point hard at mid-September. Here is your UK round-up for 31 August to 6 September 2026.
Madrid P1 crowns Triay/Brea and Galán/Chingotto
Premier Padel’s Madrid P1 ran from 29 August to 6 September, with qualifying at Club Pro Padel Coslada and the main draw at Movistar Arena. Prize money was listed at €479,068, with 1,000 FIP ranking points for the champions.
In the women’s final, world number ones Gemma Triay and Delfi Brea beat Paula Josemaría and Bea González 6-7(5), 6-3, 6-3. It was their sixth title of the season after a first-set tie-break loss and a strong recovery in the next two sets.
In the men’s final, Ale Galán and Fede Chingotto beat Coki Nieto and Mike Yanguas 6-4, 5-7, 6-4 in a three-set battle that stretched late into Sunday evening. Nieto and Yanguas had already made the story of the week by knocking out world number ones Arturo Coello and Agustín Tapia in the quarter-finals, then beating Tino Libaak and Gonza Alfonso in the semis. Galán and Chingotto reached the final with a 6-3, 6-4 semi-final win over Íñigo Jofre and Jairo Bautista. Between the two finals the arena also hosted a farewell tribute to Madrid’s own Alejandra Salazar, who retires at the end of 2026.
For UK viewers the free streams remain the usual Premier Padel channels. After Olympia’s sell-out noise, Madrid was the first test of whether British attention sticks when the tour leaves home soil.
Scotland’s Cup final day lands on Sunday
Tennis Scotland’s fourth Padel Scottish Cup reached Finals Day at Racket Barn in Glasgow on Sunday 6 September, wrapping weeks of club-versus-club knockout play. The women’s final paired defending champions Edinburgh Sports Club with two-time winners West of Scotland Padel. The men’s final put Game4Padel Thistle Padel Club against holders Game4Padel Barnton Park. Official winners had not been published on Tennis Scotland or LTA channels at the time of writing; streams ran on Tennis Scotland’s YouTube.
The same venue hosts the inaugural Scottish Open Championships from 18 to 20 September, with a £4,000 prize fund and LTA British Tour Grade One ranking points. Entries are already open.
That double-header at Scotland’s biggest indoor facility is useful infrastructure: a national club competition closing one weekend, a ranked national championship the next.
Looking ahead: Madrid World Cup qualifier
The bigger British story on the horizon is still the FIP World Cup European qualifier at Pádel G24 in Madrid from 22 to 26 September. Great Britain will contest both the men’s and women’s draws for two of the remaining places at November’s World Cup finals in Doha. LTA team selections had not been published at the time of writing. Names in contention from the London P1 group include Aimee Gibson, Catherine Rose, Christian Medina Murphy, Louie Harris and Tia Norton.
