Christian Medina Murphy and Alfonso Patacho dethroned the defending champions in a three-set final at the LTA Padel National Championships in Bristol, Aimee Gibson and Catherine Rose retained the women’s title, and Arturo Coello and Agustín Tapia made it three Rotterdam titles in a row. Here is your UK round-up for 28 September to 4 October 2026.

LTA Padel National Championships: Medina Murphy/Patacho and Gibson/Rose crowned in Bristol

The second LTA Padel National Championships ran from 1 to 4 October at Rocket Padel Bristol, with Open, 40+, 50+ and 60+ draws for men and women, £10,400 in prize money and LTA ranking points on offer.

In the men’s Open, second seeds Christian Medina Murphy and Alfonso Patacho beat top seeds and defending champions Louie Harris and Alex Loughlan 6–7, 7–6, 6–4 in Sunday’s final. Medina Murphy and Patacho reached the final with a 6–2, 6–0 semi-final win over third seeds Jake Bewley and Theo Garton, while Harris and Loughlan beat fourth seeds Sam Jones and Nikhil Mohindra 6–4, 6–2.

The women’s Open went to form. Top seeds Aimee Gibson and Catherine Rose retained their title with a 6–2, 6–0 final win over third seeds Chloe de la Mare and Victoria Nicholas, a week after both pairs helped Great Britain’s women qualify for the FIP World Cup. Gibson and Rose beat fourth seeds Alice Keddie and Lisa Phillips 6–1, 6–1 in the semi-finals, and de la Mare and Nicholas beat second seeds Laura Jackson and Rosie Quirk 6–2, 6–4.

In the age-group events, the official winners list shows Richard Brooks and James Southwood (men’s 40+), Sophie Cousins and Sarah Lochrie (women’s 40+), Kingsley Harris and Peter Wright (men’s 50+), Julie Hanger and Stephanie Trill (women’s 50+), John Byrne and Colin Mcgill (men’s 60+) and Nicky Horn and Ashley Mears (women’s 60+) as champions.

Earlier in the week, GB under-18 No.1 Ben Phillips won the FIP Promises Padel Point in Mansoura, Egypt, with Spanish partner Alonso Moreno Muñoz, taking the final 7–6, 7–5 without dropping a set all tournament. The Padel Paper reports the title, his third on the Promises tour, lifted him to 10th among Europe’s under-18 boys.

Rotterdam P2: Coello/Tapia complete a hat-trick, Sánchez/Ustero win again

The CUPRA Rotterdam Premier Padel P2 finished at Ahoy on Sunday 4 October. Arturo Coello and Agustín Tapia beat Franco Stupaczuk and Jon Sanz 6–3, 6–2 for their third consecutive Rotterdam title and tenth title of the season, having knocked out Ale Galán and Fede Chingotto in the quarter-finals and Mike Yanguas and Coki Nieto in the semi-finals. Premier Padel says the win stretches their FIP Race lead over Galán and Chingotto to 1,780 points.

In the women’s final Ariana Sánchez and Andrea Ustero beat second seeds Bea González and Paula Josemaría 6–4, 6–4, after beating world No.1s Gemma Triay and Delfi Brea in the semi-finals. It was Sánchez’s 100th career final and the pair’s second title in a row after Roland-Garros. Premier Padel reported more than 42,600 spectators across the week.

Clubs and courts: floating courts in Liverpool, a pub site in Chesham, and a Wembley closure

Vibora Liverpool Waters opened on Saturday 26 September at Princes Dock, billed by developer Peel Waters as the UK’s first floating padel destination. It launched with two floating courts and a clubhouse, is open 7am to 10pm daily, and charges £55 for a 60-minute booking through Playtomic, with a third floating court planned later this year.

Padel at the Pub opened its first site at The Black Horse in Chesham, Buckinghamshire, adding two courts plus a padel café to the pub, open daily from 7am to 10pm.

Less happily, The Padel Paper reported on 1 October that Social Sports Society’s Wembley club has closed. According to the report, developers Quintain Living revoked the lease over unpaid rent and the operator has filed a notice of intention to appoint administrators.

If a new club has opened near you, or a listing looks wrong, use the “cannot find your local court” prompt on the UK padel clubs directory and we will update it.

The week ahead

The Premier Padel European swing continues with the Germany P2 in Düsseldorf, which ends on Sunday 11 October, before the tour heads to the Milano P1. Closer to home, the inaugural LTA Padel Junior National Championships follow at Just Padel Derby on 29 and 30 October, and Great Britain’s women prepare for the FIP World Cup in Doha (2 to 7 November).
