Bishop’s Stortford Lawn Tennis Club added two canopied padel courts on Cricketfield Lane in March 2025, following a second run at planning permission. The artificial-grass courts sit under all-weather cover and are open to everyone — members and pay-and-play visitors alike — through MATCHi, with slots running roughly 8am to 10pm daily. The club shares the Cricketfield Lane community sports ground with the town’s cricket and other sports sections, giving padel a home within one of Bishop’s Stortford’s most established sporting settings.

New to padel? What you need for your first session

Most UK padel venues hire rackets by the hour, so you do not need to buy anything before your first game. Check this club’s booking page for hire availability and prices.

Once you have played a few times and want your own kit, this is the order we would buy in.
