Book on Playtomic

Tucked into a converted barn on a working farmstead at Southburn, just outside Driffield, Wold Padel pairs one doubles court with one singles court under cover, so weather never cancels a game. England padel player Paul Layfield coaches small groups on Saturdays, and first-timers can borrow rackets and balls for free rather than buying kit before they’ve tried the sport. The club has already run its first internal league and keeps a WhatsApp group going for players hunting a fourth. Plenty of free parking and a table tennis table for downtime round out this East Yorkshire farm-based venue.

New to padel? What you need for your first session

Most UK padel venues hire rackets by the hour, so you do not need to buy anything before your first game. Check this club’s booking page for hire availability and prices.

Once you have played a few times and want your own kit, this is the order we would buy in.
