Kelso, Scottish Borders

Border Padel Co. brought the Scottish Borders its first padel court by converting a farm shed at Cliftonhill Farm near Kelso into a single indoor playing space. The project went through a retrospective planning application covered by the Border Telegraph, reflecting a grassroots, farm-diversification route into the sport rather than a purpose-built commercial club. Bookings are handled through Playtomic on a pay-and-play basis. It is a small-scale but genuine first for the region, giving Borders players a local alternative to travelling into Edinburgh or Newcastle for a game.
